Singapore National Armed Force and Singapore National Service Armed Force

Singapore National Armed Force and Singapore National Service Armed Force

When we talk about national service in Singapore, we are referring the name given to the compulsory conscription in Singapore of all male Singaporean citizens and second-generation permanent residents upon reaching the age of 18. They serve a two-year period as Full Time National Servicemen (NSFs) in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), Singapore Police Force (SPF), or the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).

The armed forces of a country are its government-sponsored defense, fighting forces, and organizations. They exist to further the foreign and domestic policies of their governing body, and to defend that body and the nation it represents from external and internal aggressors. In some countries paramilitary forces are included in a nation's armed forces. Armed force is the use of armed forces to achieve political objectives.

National service is a common name for mandatory or voluntary government service programs (most often focusing on military service). (Compulsory military service is more often known as conscription.) National service was common in the 20th century, and many young people spent one or more years in such programs. Compulsory military service typically requires all citizens, or all male citizens, to participate for a period of a year (or more in some countries) during their youth, usually at some point between the age of 18 and their late twenties.

Now, I refering to Singaporean who had one child or two children policy. It is very sad to groom our children and see them pass away during NS. So I propose we shall had regular SAF, SPF or SCDF and NS-SAF, NS-SPF or NS-SCDF. We shall cut down death incident by more safety environment, more competent training, less danger training, more friendly environtment and less serving period. A National Service Union Committee to review any death incident and safety training for our NS men.
